Motörhead: Lemmy, “Fast” Eddie Clarke, “Philthy Animal” Taylor

Motörhead flew the rock and roll flag harder than anyone. The group’s leader, Lemmy Kilmister is the gnarliest of rock gods and Motörhead has the distinction of being the one band that all metalheads and punk rockers could both worship. For decades, Lemmy and co. effortlessly fired off instant classic albums like ACE OF SPADES and OVERKILL. But one thing that wasn’t so easy for the band was deciding on what to name the group in this first place. Recent acquisition of Lemmy’s notebook from the mid-’70s reveals a long list of possible band names that were rejected. Enjoy this look behind the denim.
